I think I usually end up using the eighth note setting as I find there's too much legato at the 16th note setting. You can adjust the legato speed by choosing a note division at which they are triggered. OTOH, Evolution excels at combining picked and legato notes in an authentic and automatic way. So I still use that if I need even just one or two notes that have that real rock attitude. But the downside is you have to construct your solos much the same as you do with key switching string articulations on some orchestral libs. any one note sounds very realistic because they sampled real vibratos and bends and slides. I wish they had just made some slide samples in the vein of Ministry of Rock, which I also have. My main quibble is getting it to easily do convincing slides. I initially got it when it was still Strawberry and was frustrated by it and just let it sit there unused for the most part.
#Vir2 electri6ity support forum upgrade
AFAIK, this IS an upgrade that works with K4. I have Orange Tree's electric guitar, now called "Evolution" and really like it. Ski, I'll be curious what you end up choosing. where Pettinghouse and Electri6ity reside. and for the most part it has been relegated to a place on my backup samples drive. I still use it occasionally when i want a different tone that my other sample sets can't give me. It's not terrible but it is noticeable to me at least and i find it slightly off putting when I play over certain ranges of samples.
I get a feeling, for example, that one part of the samples were recorded one day and another part a couple of weeks later when something in the recording process had changed giving a slightly different sound. and some of the samples do have a couple of odd sounding changes like they didn't quite match up all the samples or record them all at the same time. I mean, it does sound good and it's a well sampled set but it doesn't give me that "I'm playing a real guitar" feeling as much as the others I use on a regular basis. and it might just be personal taste or it might be that I have been spoilt by using other emulations. Like yourself I was pretty blown away by the demos they posted up so I picked up the 'Strawberry' based on that fact and to be honest I was slightly disappointed when I finally got a chance to work hands on with it.įor some reason.
I realized after I read back through my last post that I didn't actually say that much about the Strawberry guitar so. that when used with FX plugins sound very authentic too. When I do not want to load in or use sample sets. Simply because of it's amazing tone and the natural way it sounds and reacts to my playing.įinally I also use MusicLab's RealLPC and RealStrat. I prefer Electri6ity for complex and detailed guitar emulation thought it is pricey compared to the more typical but less abled sample sets. as it stands, it is a good sample set with interesting and very usable tones.īut.
#Vir2 electri6ity support forum update
I'm hoping that one day they will properly update it for K4 or even better, K5 using it's new scripting features. My only complaints would be that it was originally programmed for K2 and honestly, they have not really updated it to work and utilize the various newer K4 features though it will work ok with K4 of course. I own the Strawberry Electric Guitar and it's not bad at all.
